Today's local newspaper carried this news item.(translated from Hindi)

Communication satellites are the reason of increasing number of earthquakes.

The reason for the increase in number of earthquakes is not due to plate
tectonics but due to electromagnetic radiations emitted  by communication
satellites Dr. Aggrawal made this statement after Mr. Gaur of Indian
Institute of Astrophysics informed about a possibility of a major earthquake
in the Himalayan region.
