MEANWHILE IN THE U.K. ... As the Crow Doesn't Fly Animal behaviorists at Oxford University have discovered that homing pigeons' navigational techniques are a lot like humans'. Using satellite tracking devices, the scientists found that, rather than relying on their inner solar compass, the birds prefer to follow roads, taking an easily grasped route, even if it takes longer. Unlike humans, however, the birds rarely get lost.
