Dave writes: Hello everyone. May I extend my apologies to you for having
not
kept you up to date with information regarding the e-zine over the last
couple of months. Many of you thought we had finished and had no
information
to tell you otherwise. The truth of the matter is I had to turn my
attentions

Was it aliens..?

If the X-Files special agent Mulder is right and the truth is out there,
Angela Wright is keen to discover what it is.

The Droitwich woman claims she had a close encounter with an
unidentified
flying object as she and partner Robert Hughes drove near Worcester.

Angela, who says the UFO caused her car radio to cut out, wants to know
if
anyone else saw strange lights in the sky.

The late night encounter happened as Angela and Robert drove towards
Pershore
on the old Worcester Road and saw a "huge machine in the sky" as they
passed
the Berkeley Arms.

"We saw something with a huge row of lights either side and about the
size of
a house," said 53 year old Angela.

"We watched it for around 30 seconds before it just disappeared.

"We weren't scared or shocked by it, just completely overwhelmed.

"The emotion was put on hold while we stared in awe.

"We just thought 'what the hell was that?'

"It didn't have the look or contours of a plane because you see dozens
of
them in the sky and recognise them immediately.

"We'd just like to know if anyone else in the area saw anything."

Angela, a factory worker, said the radio cut out when the machine loomed
into
view about 30ft above them and came back on when after it left.

An RAF spokesman said skies were constantly monitored for any hostile
bodies,
but no unusual activities had been reported on Monday, July 20th, when
Angela
spotted the strange lights.

"If it was an alien invasion, we would be the first to know about it."
he
added.

Meteorite comes from Mars

British scientists have announced that a meteorite recovered from the
Sahara
Desert is from Mars.

Meteorite experts from the Open University said the findings could
provide
the latest breakthrough in the search for evidence of life on Mars.

The private collector who owns it could now earn about 1.4 million
pounds
sterling as researchers clamour for a piece of the 2.2kg rock.

Factfile life on Mars

Mars has held a grip over the human imagination ever since HG Wells
penned
his novel 'The War Of The Worlds' in 1898. The Martians he said regarded
this
Earth with envious eyes.

The first hint of extraterrestrial life was detected by Nasa scientists
from
a meteorite that originated on Mars found in Antarctica in 1984.

A meteorite from Mars which was found 14 years ago revealed chemical
evidence
suggesting that simple forms of life existed on the planet 3 billion
years
ago.

In 1989 jeweller David Greenberg said he hoped to beam up a fortune
after
betting 1000 pounds sterling on man reaching Mars by the year 2003.

In the last few years bookmakers have cut the odds on the discovery of
intelligent life in space after talk of primitive life on Mars and new
discoveries about the moons of Jupiter.

Last month a Japanese space craft set off on a voyage to Mars. Japanese
companies are working on extravagant schemes to build lunar colonies.

In July Nasa scientists revealed Mars was once awash with water. Photos
from
the unmanned Pathfinder probe showed an area hit by catastrophic
flooding 3
billion years ago.

In 1976 Viking spacecraft landed on Mars and returned eerie pictures of
a
rock strewn surface beneath a pink sky.

Mars in 40 million miles further from the sun than Earth and has an
average
surface temperature of -60C. Days are longer there at 24.75 hours and
there
are 687 days in a year.

The green markings seen on Mars through telescopes are caused by darker
rock
over which winds have whipped the red dust of the surface.

The planet has a poisonous atmosphere of carbon dioxide and a pressure
100th
that of Earth making it very inhospitable for humans. But of all the
planets
in the solar system scientists believe it is the one most likely to have
some
kind of life.

Earlier this year some of the worlds leading astronomers revealed they
had
collected more than 100 unexplained radio signals during routine
surveillance
of space.

Many say they believe they would detect radio signals from alien
civilisations by the year 2000.

A Weekend in Wiltshire

--

Two weeks ago it was discussed with members of UK-UFO-Network about
meeting
with Darren at the Barge Inn (the Mecca of croppies world-wide) for a
crop
watching weekend after Matthew Williams filmed some lights in the
vicinity of
a crop formation.

Ok that's the formal intro over with. We had a ruddy great time. I
laughed my
throat raw with the amount of laughter that I produced over the
thirty-six or
so hours that I was there. For me it started when Jerry Anderson
(Jez_UFO,
the Co-ordinator of UFOMEK) came round to my place ready to join Vash
and I
down there. After all why take two cars when mine was only half full?
Jerry
should be a stand-up comedian for the amount of funnies he comes out
with. We
got off a little late but soon made up time, as the orbital car park was
actually moving!

While we were driving down the last stretch of road to the Barge we was
treated to our first Crop Circle (CC), it was a fake (IMHO) but we'll
get
back to that later. Needless to say we stopped the car and got out to
have a
good look. Jez was not up for us to go traipsing through the farmers
field
without permission so we didn't actually go in it :-( We saw two more on
our
final few miles, by golly Wiltshire is rife with CC's.

We turned up about twenty past four, twenty minutes late but we were the
first one there! Well not quite Darren literally strolled in about a
minute
after us. LLoydy turned up about twenty minutes after that looking as
bright
and breezy as ever. As for Crow and Raine, well ahem you can't blame
Dave
Gilham's fifty miles an hour top speed driving, no I'm sorry you can't.
Just
because you were just three, yes three hours late, sorry no excuses go
to the
back of the classroom and stand in the corner. :-)

Whilst we were waiting for the latecomers to arrive, Darren, Jez, Lloydy
and
I introduced each other and got down to the serious business of the
first (of
many) pints. We were joined soon after by a chap called Simon who had
many
theories about CC's and what makes them, delightful chap, he went off
and
came back later wearing a anorak, need I say more?

As the hour approached that you could order food, after all man cannot
live
by beer alone (well you could try but I doubt it), we all ordered some
calories for consumption thereof and lo and behold just as the chips
arrived
infront of me Raine and co turned up. Now is that just coincidence or
has
Raine got a brilliant sense of timing??

We had a good ole chinwag. Dave Gilham came back into the pub and
dragged
Crow off to see another CC. Poor Raine had literally just got him a pint
in,
"ah I'll have to drink it," she says with a small grin. More chat and
merry
making followed whilst we awaited the return of the intrepid Dave and
co. As
we were making preparations for our mass move to Knotts Hill for the
crop
watch Dave and Crow arrived with about ten minutes to spare. Crow did
mention
about Dave lying in the CC staring up at the sky muttering summat or
other.
Anyway we all moved out, first off to the wood yard to get some
firewood,
then off to the crop watch site. Funny thing this, the time to move to
the
crop watching site was also the time that they was calling last orders,
more
coincidences? :-)

We had barely got to the site and unloaded all the firewood from the
cars
when word reached Paul Damon, who told us all straight away, that there
was a
BBC film crew out with the famous Doug, of Doug and Dave fame. They were
out
to hoax a CC and discredit all the hard work and research done by many.
After
a quick discussion it was decided that we would go up and politely ask
the
BBC crew not to do so. A few of the gathering stayed behind to look
after the
now established campsite. We all piled in as many cars as was needed and
drove at reasonable speed limit conscious speeds :-) to get to the BBC
crew
as quickly as possible.

We went straight to the farmers field where the BBC crew were and all
piled
out of our cars. Paul and his mate who's name I have forgot, confronted
the
crew and asked them what they was doing up here at night. The crew
leader
informed us that he did not have to let us know what he was doing and
asked
us to leave or he would call the police. Paul said please do call the
police,
and asked him if he had the farmers' permission to be out here on his
fields
at night? As we were talking with the leader of the crew more and more
cars
pulled up with more people indignant at the front of the BBC crew.
Around
forty to fifty people eventually arrived on the scene. Paul asked them
what
they were doing here at night and they admitted what they were up to. A
woman
within the film crew said they were here at night because that was when
all
CC's where made, I had to pipe up here I'm afraid. "I'm sorry but you
are
wrong young lady, CC's appear twenty four hours a day, seven days a
week,
three hundred and sixty five days a year". She did not reply to this but
walked off talking to someone on her mobile phone. After a moderately
heated
discussion the film crew agreed to do an impromptu interview with Paul
Damon
and his mate. I won't be waiting with baited breath to see this on
Television. A much calmer and more settled crowd dispersed with only a
small
amount of muttering after the interview. It later transpired that the
crew
with the help of a few "experts" did make a formation but elsewhere
thanks to
our intervention.

After examining the CC, Lloydy, Raine and I decided to make our way
back.
When we got back there was only Crow and Jerry waiting for us. We had a
quick
chat and decided to go and find a Little Chef for a breakfast. Please
take
note gentlemen, Vash did not appreciate not being woken from her slumber
and
asking her if she wanted to join us. She said she was mightily annoyed
waking
up and finding herself all

We made our way down the winding country road stopping at several CC's
and
getting right in them. We also went to Silbury hill, the largest man
made
hill in Europe, I foolishly offered to race Lloydy up the steep slope
rather
than the easy walk to get to the top of Silbury Hill. My legs where like
jelly when I got up there five minutes after the fit git, but I still
beat
all the others.

After this we went to the CC that Dave Gilham took Crow to the night
before.
We took a few pictures. It was a truly fantastic size and pattern.
Darren met
us here and got a few of us to try the dowsing rods. I have to say that
I was
one of the few that it actually worked for, boy was I chuffed. After
this
particular CC, which I was 50/50 about being genuine we went to Avebury.
Of
course we had to visit the tourist trap gift shop but then how could you
avoid it. Darren had us all sit in the "Devils Chair" to see what we
felt,
again I was one of the lucky ones, I didn't feel it. I was decidedly
knackered now, it was twevlish and I had been up since seven thirty the
day
before.

We made our way back to the Barge Inn to find out if there was any news
about
the hoax CC that the BBC crew were up to. We found out that the crew had
indeed, with the aid of a few others made a fake CC in which they
intended to
discredit the whole phenomenon. Fortunately Matt Williams and Paul Damon
were
there making up a sign to inform visitors that it was an intentional
hoax. We
got directions to where it was supposed to be and decided to drop in on
the
the hoax on our way home. Unfortunately we missed it, but Crow and co
were
able to make it. We did see the white crane that the BBC were using for
filming. Crow had a chat with Doug whose opinion of the whole phenomenon
was
that all CC's are fake. Doug told Crow that he had loads of letters from
people who had faked CC's which had fooled the experts. This only served
to
bolster the UK-UFO-Online CC's sceptic, Crow, that his opinion was
right.

My personal opinion is different from crow's but I feel that there are
so
many fake CC's which are very good that it is only damaging the hard
work
done by many researching this fascinating phenomenon.

Mystified by object

On Wednesday, August 12 1998, at around 10.35pm, I was returning home
after
an evening's entertainment when I happened to notice a pale green
glowing
object in the sky above Derby.

I pulled over to the side of the road and observed the object for about
10
minutes.

After hovering for a short time, the object suddenly accelerated away to
the
right, before disappearing vertically from view.

It was a clear night and when I wound down my window the objected [sic]
emitted no noise. I am at a loss to explain it.

I wonder if any of your readers saw the object?

for
a further update. And of course if any of you have further information
regarding this sighting or any other please get in touch.

The End of Death: 'Soul Catcher' Computer Chip Due...

By Robert Uhlig

A computer chip implanted behind the eye that could record a person's
every
lifetime thought and sensation is to be developed by British scientists.
"This is the end of death," said Dr. Chris Winter, of British Telecom's
artificial life team. He predicted that within three decades it would be
possible to relive other people's lives by playing back their
experiences on
a computer. "By combining this information with a record of the person's
genes, we could recreate a person physically, emotionally and
spiritually."
Dr. Winter's team of eight scientists at BT's Martlesham Heath
Laboratories
near Ipswich calls the chip the 'Soul Catcher.' It would be possible to
imbue
a new-born baby with a lifetime's experiences by giving him or her the
Soul
Catcher chip of a dead person, Dr. Winter said. The proposal to digitize
existence is based on a solid calculation of how much data the brain
copes
with over a lifetime. Ian Pearson , BT's official futurologist, has
measured
the flow of impulses from the optical nerve and nerves in the skin,
tongue,
ear, and nose. Over an eighty year life, we process 10 terrabytes of
data,
equivalent to the storage capacity of 7,142,857,142,860,000 floppy
disks. Dr.
Pearson said, "If current trends in the miniaturization of computer
memory
continues at the rate of the past 20 years - a factor of 100 every
decade -
today's 8-megabyte memory chip norm will be able to store 10 terrabytes
in 30
years." British Telecom would not divulge how much money it is investing
in
the project, but Dr. Winter said it was taking 'Soul Catcher 2025' very
seriously. He admitted that there were profound ethical considerations,
but
emphasized that BT was embarking on this line of research to enable it
to
remain at the forefront of communications technology. "An implanted chip
would be like an aircraft's black box and would enhance communications
beyond
current concepts," he said. "For example, police would be able to use it
to
relive an attack, rape, or murder from the victim's viewpoint to help
catch
the criminal." Other applications would be less useful but more
frightening.
"I could even play back the smells, sounds, and sights of my holiday to
my
friends," Dr. Winter said.

Uri Geller's Weird Web

Here's something to try at home. Take a handful of wheat seeds, and
plant
them. In another pot, sow more seeds - taken from a crop circle. See
which
grows faster.

If crop circle investigator Paul Vigay is right, the mysterious force
which
creates intricate patterns in fields, doesn't just flatten corn - it
genetically improves it.

To find a crop circle near you, turn to:

http://www.interalpha.net/customer/pvigay/cirlces.html

and get e-mail alerts to every fresh formation. You can expect your
mailbox
to be busy - there have been about 200 circles every year this decade.

Can all these be hoaxes? Last month a series of circles on Milk Hill in
Wiltshire was blamed on the BBC's Country File team, and a national
newspaper
is believed to have commissioned another fraud at nearby Silbury Hill.
But
these are just two - out of scores.

How could hoaxers generate the high radioactive levels Vigay says he
found at
some circles? Why would radio interference increase? Why do dowsers'
rods
start twitching inside the corn formations? Why does electronic
apparatus
such as mobile phones suddenly go haywire?

UFO spotters have been flocking to the East Field at Alton Barnes, near
Devizes, since a snowflake design was etched into the corn last month.

One woman believes she has caught on video three silver globes moving
inside
the crop circle. Army helicopters have been seen in profusion, and many
witnesses insist they watched a helicopter chasing a sphere across the
field.
Crop circle researcher Colin Andrews says a Japanese film crew there are
delighted - they have filmed bizarre occurrences seven nights running.

Hoax or otherwise, crop circles are great artworks. The best images

That's one small step for man, one giant lie for mankind

Did we ever make it to the moon, or was the Space Race a sinister
cover-up by
the Super Powers? The man-on-the-moon plot is just the start of it...

Some of us can actually remember the Apollo 11 show that NASA put on in
July
1969, when half the world sat glued to their TVs watching Neil Armstrong
and

Buzz Aldrin cavorting around on the moon. At the time, people joked that
it
was complete make-believe. Today you'll still find people who think that
it
was a put-up job by NASA, shot in a Hollywood studio.

The Nobody-Went-To-The-Moon theory and doesn't grab everyone on the
conspiracy circuit, some insist that a different, much more sinister
cover-up
took place. They believe in the existence of secret tapes on which
Aldrin and
Armstrong are recorded gasping at the vast array of UFOs parked around
their
landing site. NASA, of course, censored the exchange and the astronauts
have
since denied seeing anything - but they would, wouldn't they? Not much
point
in citing all the evidence that the tapes were a hoax, then.

William L Brian II has another take on the Nobody-Went-To-The-Moon line.
According to the cover notes on his book Moongate: Suppressed Findings
of the
US. Space Program, he "has the mathematical and conceptual skills to
verify
the cover-up from a scientific standpoint". Once inside, Brian proceeds
to
batter the reader with many an algebraic formula that, he says, prove
the
Moon's gravitational field is 64 per cent as strong as Earth's.. Brian
reasons that NASA employed 'semi-slow motion' photography to create the
clever illusion of the astronauts bouncing about under low gravity.

So what are we to make of the Apollo 15 crew's recreation of Galileo's
famous
experiment, in which a hammer and feather were dropped on the 'airless'
Moon
and both fell at the same rate? "The feather probably concealed a rather
heavy object," says Brian, without a flicker of a smile. Strong lunar
gravity
also means that the Moon could hold an atmosphere to its bosom. Where
there's
air, there may be life, runs Brian's reasoning.

These theories are all very well, but why, exactly, would NASA attempt
to
cover-up the moon's true gravity and atmosphere? In particular, why
would
they want to hide what Brian describes as the moon's "saffroncoloured
sky,
vegetation and animal life, snowcapped mountains, lakes and rivers"?

Why? Because aliens live there, of course. They even have an
anti-gravity
monorail according to Brian). And everyone knows that no government
organisation on Earth will ever admit to knowing anything about aliens.

Scientists can't resist pointing out that if the moon's gravitational
field
is as powerful as Brian says, the Moon would have to weigh a lot more
than it
does. In which case, it would be in a different orbit, since that is
governed
by the moon's mass and Earth's gravitational pull. But Brian is
convinced he
knows better. However, all of which pales beside the claims made by
Milton
William Cooper in various Internet postings at the end of the
Eighties...

Alien-gate: are the Super Powers part of a secret Alien coalition?

"This file contains the absolute true information regarding the alien
presence on Earth and the US government's involvement with the aliens,"
Cooper trumpeted, working up to the thrilling climax: "This file is my
death
warrant." (Seven years later, he appears to be very much alive and well,
and
living in Arizona).

Cooper has his own theories on why the US space program was one gigantic
hoax. He maintains that even as President Kennedy announced the plan to
put a
man on the Moon, a joint alien/USA/USSR moonbase already existed.
Furthermore, he insists that on 22 May 1962, "a space probe landed on
Mars
and confirmed the existence of an environment which could support life.
Not
long afterward, the construction of a colony on the planet Mars began in
earnest. Cities now exist on Mars populated by specifically selected
people
from different cultures and occupations, taken from all over the Earth.

"A charade of antagonism between the Soviet Union and the United States
has
been maintained over all these years in order to fund projects in the
name of
National Defence - when in fact we are close allies."

Cooper maintained that Kennedy had been killed in Dallas in 1963 because
he
was about to reveal 'The Truth' about the alien presence on Earth (not
to
mention Mars). He rather spoiled his case by showing a film of
assassination
that, he said, showed the driver of Kennedy's car, Bill Greer, firing
the
fatal shot. As revealed in our October issue, the film shows both
Greer's
hands firmly on the wheel. Perhaps he was a three-armed alien?

There's absolutely nothing new about the International-Alien conspiracy,
according to Cooper. "Throughout our history the aliens have manipulated
and
ruled the human race through religion, witchcraft and the occult.

"The secret government, in cahoots with the aliens, has a fiendish plan
to
establish colonies in outer space. I am not able to either confirm or
deny
the existence of 'Batch Consignments' of human slaves to be used for
manual
labour.

"As a delaying action [the plan] included birth control, sterilisation,
and
the introduction of deadly microbes to slow the growth of the Earth's
population. AIDS is only one result of these plans." Astonishing.

Did NASA stage the biggest cover-up In history to protect moon aliens?

-[continued in part 2]-
