los "libertarians" son una rama radical del liberalismo. No tiene fácil
traducción en Europa, pero en USA tiene larga tradición y son muy
activos: es lo que aquí llamaríamos "ultraliberal" o, incluso,
"anarquista de derechas" (o también "anarcocapitalistas"). El conocido
hacker Eric Raymond es un activista del libertarianismo, te sugiero la
lectura de sus FAQs, muy detalladas, quizá te ayuden a aclarar algo:

libertario, quienes asimilan "liberal" más bien a "socialdemocracia"):
